MONSTER COPS

May 5, 2010 0 Comments

So here's what's going down. Will this movie happen?  Yes it will.

But Patrick, WHEN?

As soon as a few other things happen. Here's the production protocol as I like to call it.

1. MONSTER COPS. If you don't know about Monster Cops then see what you've been missing at MONSTERCOPS.COM For the next few months we'll be working on episodes and webisodes, having festival and theatrical screenings, and will be putting out a DVD in the FALL/WINTER 2010.

2. CREEP. When Monster Cops has completed Series 1, then we'll be working on another feature film entitled Creep. Check out the site, which doesn't have much up, but at least you can read the script for the first scene. CREEPMOVIE.NET

3. BOBBY'S CLOSET. So realistically if when we get to this it may very well be closer to ...

Rube Goldberg Machine

From Wikipedia

A Rube Goldberg machine is a deliberately over engineered machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. The expression is named after American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg.

I love Rube Goldberg Machines. From The Goonies and Pee Wee's Big Adventure and many others, Rube Goldberg Machines always instill a sense of fun and creativity. Plus it's one long joke. It's this complicated contraption with many parts, and it's final punchline is that it accomplishes the simplest of tasks.

There have been shows, game shows, yearly contests, all about Rube Goldberg Machines. And since alot of the 80's child like fun that I'm trying to capture the essence of in Bobby's Closet, I decided to write them into the plot of the script. Jerry and Al live in a house filled with ...

The Adventure Began

Cross posted from patrick's One Spartan blog.

Based on the cult book series "The Destroyer" by Warren Murphy, Remo Williams was about a single super secret agent working for a small 3 to 4 man government agency known as CURE. Only known to the President Of the United States they work covertly to protect America from unknown enemies foreign and domestic. Often uncovering secret corruption and conspiracies within the government, Remo would have to do battle utilizing his wit and the ancient (and fictional) martial art known as Sinanju, as taught by the old and wise Sinanju Master, Chiun.

There was little fanfare when this movie came out in 1985. And if I haven't stated it before, I'll state it now. 1985 was my year. Although I always knew I wanted to make movies, 1985 was the year that really sealed it. Back To The Future, The ...

Shut up and put your money where your mouth is!

From Patrick's Blog at patrickprejusa.com

I have a rather larger to do list for the rest of the year. I've done this before, and I'm familiar with the drill. As much as I would love to get all of the projects done on my list before the end of the year, I know it's just not possible. We're almost into December. We'll have the weather to contend with soon. Most of my stuff is exteriors, and we don't have a studio at our disposal.

I know we're most likely going to be delayed on everything. Redd will most likely be finished by March. Monster Cops will probably not have a new episode til after New Years. And Bobby's Closet will probably be pushed to late summer, most likely because of problems with fund raising. And the sad part isn't ...

Soda and Popcorn

October 20, 2009 0 Comments

I'm stuck in the 80's, there's no doubt about it. Spent the last few hours rendering video footage at the same time watching movie trailers on You Tube from 85 and 86. Commando, Cobra, Legend. I get very nostalgic watching alot of those trailers. Remembering the old movie theaters back in DFW, Texas, the AMC at the Forum, the General Cinema at Six Flags Mall. GC at Irving Mall and Red Bird. The smell of popcorn and fresh hot dogs. There will always be something nostalgic about the taste of a cold soda after eating a handful of popcorn. I remember tickets, popcorn, and soda altogether back then cost about 6 bucks. And now I sound like an old man.

Watching that trailer for LEGEND really brought back memories. This felt larger than life, truly magical.

This movie blew my mind. It has that fantasy adventure vibe ...
